+++ #16 Subject: Most cool tube holder From: Russ Erb See page 14 of the March 99 Experimenter (EAA magazine). It shows a very clever device for holding tubes in place while welding. I think I'll eventually have to make something like this. +++ #3927 From: Rob Gaddy Subject: Pictures of Homebuilt saw stand I was able to use the Kodac CD system (a pain in the ....)to upload pictures of a stand I made for my little bandsaw, that several have asked about. The files are in the file sections of the e-group. This stand is nothing special in the design aspect except that the legs at the motor end were extended (a little "shelf" was the result) to more stabalize the saw when in the raised position. I raised the saw to make it a bit better for my back. I recommend this type of saw, this one was made by JET, I use it all the time. I added a storage shelf at the bottom where I keep extra blades, accessories, and other shop stuff. In addition to the saw, shown is a small stool. It has been handy for stepping on to work on my truck, reaching shelves, etc. as well as to sit on while thinking. I made it very sturdy and stable, not wanting to fall off a 5 gallon bucket (my stool before this one). I've also made a 2 ft X 6 ft work table (not shown) that my router is mounted to. I've used small deck screws to attach shelves and table tops to the steel framework. The points of the screws are protected inside the steel tube so they won't snag anything. The screws are easly removalbe for top replacement. I don't bother using backer blocks when drilling, etc. using the table top as a renewable surface. Tim, please feel free to delete the saw files when you feel appropriate. >>> 4sep02 #9154-11297 +++ #9911 From: sonny cilley Subject: Re: Digest Number 781 Hi guys, I finally got around to move the steel posts that were the aileron jigs. this time instead of jambing them up to the shop ceiling ,wedgeing them solid. instead I bought those temporary jack posts that they put under houses with the screw on top. I cut the 2" steel jig posts about 4" shorter and took the jack post screw with its washer like nut and welded it to the top of the 2" post . this makes it really easy to move them or adjust them for the next position ( wings) .this is just and idea that worked for me, I hope it will work to help some of you. +++ $Id: 3.1.6-Tools-Jigs,v 1.5 2002/09/05 04:56:15 bentonh Exp $
