Cessna 170 windshield and the Struts of a 180/182 (if you build to the original strut plans) Not much else. I suppose you could salvage some instruments, wheels and brakes, and a few other things, but I wouldn't expect much else to be usable. I did a lot of scrounging for my Pietenpol, and was rewarded with a good airplane at a reasonable price, so I'm definately not discouraging that. Steve E. +++ #5914 From: "Bruce A. One of my old subscribers built a WagAero 2+2 Sportsman and installed C172 wings. The plane flew very well. +++ #5916 From: Budd Davisson Subject: Re: [Bearhawk] Cessna parts Trim wheel and instruments are about all you'd use. Maybe the seats. bd +++ #5917 From: Ken Beanlands Subject: Re: [Bearhawk] Cessna parts Most of the expensive parts of any single-engine piston are compatible across the board. The only exception being things like the engine. However, radios, instruments, Battery, wheels, brakes, cables, pulleys bolts, screws, washers, seats, etc. As Budd Davisson's article points out, the airframe only costs about $6000 USD (tack on a couple thousand more for those of us that can't scrounge as well). Depending on what you have servicable, you can save a bundle with recycled parts from a 152. Obviously, a 182 or something with a 180 + hp engine would probably make a better donor, but if you can get the 152 at a good price, go for it. If the engine is OK there are dozens of builders out there that would pay quite well for a good, half time 0-235. You will probably end up with more than you paid for the airplane by selling the engine alone.
